My Story

I became a professional artist through unusual circumstances.  In 2025, I left a nearly 30 year career as a police officer, knowing that my life needed to change. I left with no plan other than to take 12 months with no pressure before working out what came next.

I spent the initial few months groundless and found myself in Tasmania's wild places where I'd found solace in the past.  I painted these landscapes and became absorbed in the process.  All the years of painting, workshops, art classes and looking at the work of other artists came together.

I lost myself in the application of paint and found joy in the work I was creating.

To my surprise I found sitting before the completed works slowed my heat rate and gave me space to breathe.  There was a sense of calm which came from viewing these works, as my eye followed the green of fern fronds, and moved over the warm shadows to the dappled light.

I found a new purpose creating beauty while depicting these places which have always been so precious to me.

I decided to make the leap to become a professional artist.

I am building an arts practice which is emotionally fulfilling, rich in social connection and will support me...and the journey starts here.
